2006 in Review

With Christmas being only 2 weeks away and the New Year quickly following I thought I would provide you with my thoughts regarding The Good, The Bad and The Routine from 2006.

THE GOOD

From an investment perspective 2006 was a very good year. Our Canadian investments, for the most part, outperformed my expectations and the International investments started to show some improvement which I expect to continue.

As I told you in October, I became a published author with the launch of the Common Sense Mentors book series and I will be participating in Volume 2 of the series which is targeting Parenting (my section is about Registered Education Savings Plans). If you would like a copy of either book, just let me know. As part of this promotion I was interviewed live on Dan Carter’s First Take Show on CHEX TV ( a first for me) and since they invited me back, I must not have done too badly.

THE BAD

Unfortunately I had some clients, friends and acquaintances pass away this year and in assisting their families in sorting out their affairs, it was again abundantly clear that for those who did not have a Will it caused considerable effort, discomfort and delays in settling their affairs in comparison to those who did have a Will. Please make sure that you and your adult relatives DO have Wills and Powers of Attorney in place. I have Will and Powers of Attorney Kits that I will make available to you or them at no NO COST.

THE ROUTINE
